Data protection

Data protection at the World Freight Group

The World Freight Group attaches great importance to the protection of personal data in order to safeguard your personal rights. Data protection is an essential quality feature for us in the design and implementation of our business processes. With this data protection declaration we want to inform you about our data protection principles for the processing and use of personal data: Personal data is all information about your identity, for example your name, your e-mail address, your address. However, communication data such as telephone and fax numbers and even the IP address of the terminal device through which you have accessed this website are also considered personal data. Every time you use the Internet, you leave behind traces in the form of personal data, whereby a distinction must be made between two ways in which this data is transmitted. On the one hand, due to the technology used when using the Internet, personal data is automatically transmitted as protocol data, such as the IP address. However, a clear personal reference for this data can only be established with a isproportionately large amount of effort. The other method of data transmission is the voluntary transfer of personal data by you as the user. For example, if you request information from us via the Internet, we require at least your valid e-mail address in order to respond. If we are to send you something by post, you would have to provide us with your name and postal address. We delete the data accruing in this context after the storage is no longer necessary or restrict the processing if there are legal retention obligations.

Collection of general information

When you access our website, information of a general nature is automatically collected. This information (server log files) includes the type of web browser, the operating system used, the domain name of your Internet service provider and similar. In some cases, this is information that allows conclusions to be drawn about your person. This includes in particular the temporary storage of your IP address. This information is technically necessary in order to correctly deliver the content of web pages requested by you and is mandatory when using the Internet. Anonymous information is statistically evaluated by us in order to optimize our Internet presence and the technology behind it. Non-anonymous information that enables an assignment to your person is only stored temporarily and exclusively for the purpose of danger prevention of our Internet presence.

SSL-Encyption

To protect the security of your data during transmission, we use stateof-the-art encryption methods (e.g. SSL) via HTTPS.

Contact form

If you contact us by e-mail or contact form, the information you provide will be stored for the purpose of processing the request and for possible follow-up questions. Your data entered in the contact form will be used exclusively for the purpose of contacting World Freight GmbH. Your contact data will not be transferred to third parties. By using modern encryption methods (see SSL encryption), your entries in our contact form are transmitted encrypted according to the most modern methods.

Cookies

Like many other websites, we also use so-called „cookies“. Cookies are small text files that are transferred from a website server to your hard drive. Through this, we automatically receive certain data such as IP address, browser used, operating system about your computer and your connection to the Internet. Cookies cannot be used to run programs or deliver viruses to a computer. Based on the information contained in cookies, we can facilitate your navigation and enable the correct display of our web pages. Under no circumstances will the data we collect be passed on to third parties or linked to personal data without your consent. Of course, you can set the selection of cookies used on our website. In the event that you deactivate all cookies, the only cookie stored on your terminal device will be your cookie selection.

Use of Google Maps

This website uses Google Maps API, a mapping service provided by Google Inc, 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, DA 94043, USA, to visually display geographical information. When using Google Maps, Google also collects, processes and uses data about visitors‘ use of the map functions. When using Google services, it would be possible that personal data and personality profiles of users could be processed by Google for other purposes. Likewise, personal data of your browser will be transferred to Google Inc. and stored outside the scope of the GDPR (USA). Google observes the data protection provisions of the „US Privacy Shield“ and is registered with the „US Privacy Shield“ program of the US Department of Commerce. Our website only uses Google Maps if you select a location with „Contact details & route“ under Locations. You can find more information about data processing by Google in the Google privacy notices. There you can also change your personal privacy settings in the Privacy Center. Detailed instructions on managing your own data in connection with Google products can be found here.

Use of Social Media Plugins

So-called social plugins („plugins“) of the social networks Facebook, Google+ and Pinterest are used on our website. These services are offered by the companies Facebook Inc, Google Inc and Pinterest Inc („providers“). Facebook is operated by Facebook Inc, 1601 S. California Ave, Palo Alto, CA 94304, USA („Facebook“). An overview of Facebook’s plugins and their appearance can be found here: developers.facebook.com/docs/plugins.

Pinterest is operated by Pinterest, Inc – located at 808 Brannan St, San Francisco, CA 94103, USA („Pinterest“). You can find an overview of the Pinterest plugins and their appearance here: https://pinterest.com/about/privacy/
When you call up a page of our website that contains such a plugin, your browser establishes a direct connection to the servers of Facebook, Google or Pinterest. The content of the plugin is transmitted directly to your browser by the respective provider and integrated into the page. By integrating the plugins, the providers receive the information that your browser has called up the corresponding page of our website, even if you do not have a profile or are not currently logged in. This information (including your IP address) is transmitted from your browser directly to a server of the respective provider in the USA and stored there. If you are logged in to one of the services, the providers can directly assign the visit to our website to your profile on Facebook, Google+ and Pinterest. The purpose and scope of the data collection and the further processing and use of the data by the providers, as well as your rights in this regard and setting options for protecting your privacy, can be found in the privacy notices of the providers. If you do not want Google, Facebook or Pinterest to directly assign the data collected via our website to your profile in the respective service, you must log out of the corresponding service before visiting our website. You can also completely prevent the loading of the plugins with add-ons for your browser, e.g. with the script blocker „NoScript“ (https://noscript.net/).

Use of YouTube

We use components (videos) of the company YouTube, LLC 901 Cherry Ave., 94066 San Bruno, CA, USA (hereinafter: „YouTube“), a company of Google Inc., Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA (hereinafter: „Google“), on our websites on the basis of consent pursuant to Art. 6 (1) p. 1 lit. f DSGVO. Here, we use the „extended data protection mode“ option provided by YouTube. When you call up a page that has an embedded video, a connection is established to the YouTube servers and the content is displayed on the website by informing your browser. According to YouTube’s information, in „extended data protection mode“ your data – in particular which of our Internet pages you have visited as well as device-specific information including the IP address – is only transmitted to the YouTube server in the USA when you watch the video. By clicking on the video, you consent to this transmission. If you are logged in to YouTube at the same time, this information will be assigned to your YouTube member account. You can prevent this by logging out of your member account before visiting our website. Google complies with the data protection provisions of the „US Privacy Shield“ and is registered with the „US Privacy Shield“ program of the US Department of Commerce. For more information on data protection in connection with YouTube, please refer to Google’s privacy policy.
